Wasn't it only a short while ago when he said he was a Yankee fan and not an Indians fan?

Put me down for voting this as THE GREATEST GAME EVER.

Wasn't born in 1960. Too young for 1975. I was at Game 7 in 2001, and will never forget the explosion when Randy Johnson came out of the bullpen. Game 7 1991 would be the previous number one for me.

But this is it. What puts it there is the history. Game 7 between a team with a 108-year drought versus a team with a 68-year drought. Maybe the most popular team in the sport. Extra innings. Crazy blown leads. Previously unhittable pitchers getting rocked. Two runs scored on a wild pitch. Dramatic home runs. An extra-inning rain delay. Yes, there were mistakes, but to me, that only adds to the general awesomeness.

Mike Babcock had a great point too -- the intense shots of the nervous fans. Added to the atmosphere. So much was on the line, and that does it for me.

Those are not the fans I saw in the stands the past couple of weeks!! [BTW How come Old Style didn't get that commercial w/ Carey?]

    That Nike Cubs ad,
, is fantastic (like others said, but I couldn't find it in the thread)!! Yeah, I used to do all those things, pretending, throwing the ball to myself to make the catch, hitting pitches I threw up to myself (cross-thread, makes me feel old). Sad part is I don't see those things out of kids anymore, thought I would with my kids (now 15 & 17) and never did. I live right across the street from the baseball field for our elementary school and in 10 years have never seen that from any kid. Shame. Maybe it will start up again because of this ad (or maybe I hope it is happening elsewhere), I hope so.
