After an HR off 5-inning Jake gives Dickie major wood, Joe Maddon hands the ball to Travis Wood.

I was only half listening, but did they say that when the rail is wet the ball travels less and when it's dry it travels better? This is counter my understanding, which is, temperature being equal, an increase humidity = a ball traveling farther.
(I didn't hear all of the explanation b/c I was changing a diaper. Maybe the rail is wet when it's colder and that would hamper the ball's travel and they weren't talking about humidity.)

That is what they said. Verducci's nursery rhyme was when the rail is wet, hitters fret; when the rail is dry, watch it fly.

And somebody actually wondered why I call you a troll. Thank you for providing even more evidence to support my claim.

If you showed me that clip and told me the umpire called him safe, I would have guessed Angel Hernandez in a heartbeat.

I would rather listen to Vin Scully shit his diaper than one more fucking syllable from Joe Buck.

It wasn't bang bang.......i have a feeling Cederstrom put on the headset, heard replay laughing hysterically, then signaled out.

Against the Giants, 6 innings and a W.

Cubs have to win every non-Kershaw game now. Lackey is nothing special and Hill owned them effortlessly. Things are looking pretty bad. Time for Maddon to do something wacky.
