All of those young Cubs are absolute whiff machines. It's frustrating to watch their damn games sometimes. Seldom a ball in play.

Beane needs to get out of Oakland. Executive fatigue/decay is real.

 

He owns a piece of the team. There's no reason for him to leave.
They had a dry stretch from 2007 to 2011.
He panicked after '14 meltdown. No need to blow up that team.

 

I think the ballpark malaise has finally taken its toll. There's nothing on the front burner or even the back burner.

The atmosphere around that team is as dead as I've seen it since just after LaRussa and McGwire left. It's like everyone's just waiting for Sonny Gray to challenge for the Cy Young Award and then get shipped out of town.
