The man who one post earlier lamented "lame personal attacks." By the way, "lame personal attacks" filled my OOP Bingo card.

Seriously, folks. Fart is trying to argue that the World Series champions from 2014 were a bunch of losers. Upon having the ridiculousness of that argument exposed, he is doubling down.

Your evidence was dismissed as meaningless bullshit because that is exactly the treatment it deserves. A team that is two games out on July 30 has a better shot of making the playoffs than a team that is three and a half games out on Sept. 4. To steal from another poster, that is inarguable among the sane. More importantly, the Pirates were above .500 with Melancon and they have a losing record since they traded him. That is legitimate evidence that you have no idea what you are talking about.

You lost fart. You took a bad position and suffered a rhetorical defeat. Just accept it and move on. Thank you.

Actually, I was making fun of fart for trying to cover his defeat with a lame personal attack. What I said to DQ was a response to him doing nothing in this discussion but take digs at me. At least you attempted to address the content of the discussion in your previous post, if not this one. Here's another one for your card because it absolutely applies. Please do a better job of understanding posts you are responding to before you respond. Thank you.

I just covered three spots on my new OOP Bingo card.

    How many blown saves?

And regardless the answer, they might have lost the last 6 games WITH Melancon.

Sadly, that would not have changed the financial system in baseball or the Pirates' ongoing issue of cheap ownership. Would have made 1992 a bit more fun, though.

You still don't even understand the argument you have injected yourself into. My issue wasn't just the Melancon trade. It was the failure to add enough help for the stretch run in combination with the decision to weaken the roster to cut costs in the offseason. The only reason I brought up the current situation was in response to an argument made a week or two ago by some posters who thought the Pirates were actually better since the trade, which is clearly not the case.

They're welcome to inquire about Joakim Soria.

Oh, I am happy to keep busting you up. This is my Olympics.
But it's time to let the other kids play.
    You're mine, don't forget it.

Ownership thought, "You know what, Neil, we're in the mood to piss off that oop fella at SJ.com so we're not going to add enough help for the stretch run and you know what else, Neil? We're trading Melancon. Now prepare yourself for the onslaught of oop anger. Oh and hey, Neil? Pass the barbecue sauce would ya."

The attempts to cover your defeat are getting even more pathetic. You lost. You got so desperate that you tried arguing that a World Series championship team was a bunch of losers. This was brutal defeat even for you. I know you lack the capacity to acknowledge your complete and utter failure, so you should probably just slink away to your corner.

Actually, it was more like this. "Protect our profits at all costs, even if it means hurting the organization."
