Snell pretty damn solid today. That hook is nasty. Course, Rays about to blow it.

Would love to read a book about chats between runners at first and first basemen.

    Baseball.

Machado gunned down stealing third for final out of top-1, with Davis at the plate.

Machado makes like Brooks Robinson on the first pitch of bottom-1, dives to the line to grab wicked grounder and throws the guy out from his knees.

Top-2, Davis leads off with a crusher to left, 402 feet.

Phillies starter Charlie Morton just injured his knee running to first on a bunt. Looked like he hyper-extended it pretty badly and then went down in a heap. Never made it to first, so it ended up as a double play. Had to be helped off the field and it does not look good. Running straight ahead, no one near him, not making a cut or anything.

Ryan Howard thinks this is very bad news.

Maybe not so bad after all. It looked like his knee locked but now they're calling it a hamstring strain.

They always start with the lowest diagnosis and work up. Too early for an mri so they can't call it more yet.

    Royals playing awful defense tonight.

I'd still say it's a lot more encouraging that they're saying hamstring rather than knee. I've had the experience of a hamstring popping in a full-out run, and the next step is a lot like Morton's was. I will say, though, that for him to go down like he did, it's a full pull, not some "strain." I'd be guessing six weeks. That's still better than an ACL.

Bryce Fucking Harper. Has hit 3 HRs on a 3-2 count this year

It's early but so far I was completely wrong about Dusty. This team likes him and he's been judicious with the pitching
