    Texans-Cowboys cancelled.

  2. The rest of division has been wildly unstable at the QB position and HC positions.

  3. Several NFL people saying Steelers have serious/strong interest in Joe Haden.

    Ugh.

Is Haden better than what the Steelers currently have? Maybe probably.
Is he much of an upgrade? No.

Maybe they get him cheap. So he might be worth it. But Boykin and Gilbert were spectacular busts.

I'd turn a figurative cartwheel if the Titans signed Haden.

Haden with Steelers facing Browns on week one in Cleveland.

Kyrie Irving with Celtics facing Cavs in Cleveland opening night.

Whoever Carlos Santana signs with next season will open their 2018 season at Progressive Field.

I can't tell if Joe Haden is washed up or he just decided a couple years ago that he wasn't going to bust his ass and his skull for a team as putrescent as the Cleveland Browns.

The former would be sad. The latter...well, I'd actually respect the decision.

Since Bledsoe was with the Bills, I don't know who the second best QB in the AFC East has been.

Joe Haden agrees to three-year deal with Steelers

Done deal. Steelers sign Haden to a three-year, $27 million deal.

This seems like a move made out of desperation, but the secondary really is that bad. They desperately need a cornerback opposite Artie Burns.

To be fair, Boykin was a never more than a decent third corner and Gilbert always sucked. Haden was a very good player his first few seasons in Cleveland. He was hurt the last two years and had surgery to repair the groin problem that he played through in 2016. Supposedly, he is much healthier now. I don't expect him to return to the Pro Bowl, but if he is healthy, he should be an upgrade.

I understand the concern, but this was a risk they had to take.

  9. Based on what I have read about the preseason they are desperate for secondary help.

Haden is a necessary gamble. 28, injury-plagued and burnt-toast when trying to cover AB. But an upgrade.

That and the need to upgrade the TE spot is another worry. Last year was Green and not Vance. Whatever.

How much of the cash is guaranteed for Haden? I would assume it's a relatively minor amount, and that this is more of a one-year deal / audition, and that next season, more aggressive remedies would be considered.

I am just shocked at how many tv jobs that stale wonderbread like Phil Simms and Boomer Esiason are able to get. Just shocks me. There isn't one person outside their respective families who say "We need more Boomer and Simms!"

And now I see Simms' son has a job on profootball talk. Incredible.
