The Raw women's angle produces one of the worst segments in years. The Smackdown angle gives us a historic match that could be a possible show stealer

Eh. That segment had some great bumps but I hate the story. It leaves Naomi without a match and she is not over enough to take 2 months off.

You already dont have a US title match at MITB. You cant have 2 titles not defended its just stupidity.

How times have changed in 40 years:

So I find myself watching a Sammartino vs. Steele match from MSG in '77 on the Network. Fairly standard match with Animal hiding and using foreign object.s The highlight is, at one point, Steele is out of the ring taunting some fans (who were quite insane back then), and this little old lady kept whacking Steele with her purse over and over again, and Steele is just standing there looking rather bemused as the crowd laughs. then, as Steele climbs the ring steps, the old lady reaches over the barrier (much closer back then) and whacks him again, as Steele acts irritated.

Today, of course, that old lady gets thrown out of the building and it's all over Twitter.

Yeah, I saw that one. There's also a good one from Bubba Dudley. "D-Von, get the covfefe"

Genuinely excited for this main event. Listen to 2 pods with 3 hosts, Sam has Rollins, Shoemaker has Bray, Dave Schilling has Balor. And there's been a lot of Joe rumors this weekend.

That's unpredictable. And knowing the 5 guys involved the match will be great. I dont know if the 2 hours before it will be any good or if the storylines to follow will make any sense....

But there's definitely going to be 20-40 minutes of great wrestling tonight and Im pumped about it

Is it an elimination match? Or first pinfall/submision wins?
Always a confusing point that they never make clear on matches like this.

As always, I keep up with these things. That's major WWE championship No. 16 for the Miz, which puts him in a tie for fifth all-time with Bret Hart and Randy Orton (and breaks a tie for sixth with Christian, the Rock and Ric Flair).
Only Edge (31), Cena (23), Jericho (22) and Triple H (21) have more.
Major championships being defined as the Intercontinental, U.S., any of the world titles and any of the tag team titles.

If that Hardy loss leads to the brother nero thing on wwe tv it was executed beautifully.

    Love that ending. Love it.

Yeah, I enjoyed the match and ending as well. It's such a weird rule, though, psychologically, in that both guys have to hit the floor, because one guy leaves, and his partner gets to be double-teamed.

Still can't figure out the Bayley-Alexa match. They built up for weeks that Bayley would explode and use the kendo stick, she doesn't and, with the exception of a few moves, gets pretty much squashed. Maybe they're building her up to go really nuts or something.

Cruiserweight match was very good. Main event was fantastic, although it's going to suck that Joe will be jobbed out to Lesnar.

    Will he?
If they build it right, Joe is the one guy out of the five that could be positioned as a legitimate equal with Lesnar. He's got the size, the toughness, the submission/MMA type moveset, and hasn't yet been beaten or squashed like most of the others in the fatal five-way. If they want Lesnar to drop the belt (admittedly a big if with Summerslam around the corner), he's the one guy in that match that seems to pose a legitimate threat.
