    Another thing NBA fans can "thank" David Stern for. ABC didn't want the finals to start until after May sweeps. Playing every other day and potential cross country flights doesn't seem to take anything away from the Stanley Cup playoffs. And I've had more than my fill of Drake.

    Just looked this up. The 1969 Celtics-Lakers Finals, which went a full seven games in the 2-2-1-1-1 format, began on April 23 and ended May 5. Twelve days despite four cross-country flights and they flew commercial back then.

    While I see your point about the Raptors seeing their best players leaving would be a kick in the nuts Isiah Thomas leaving a coaching or front office position has been considered a joyous experience everywhere else. Why would it have been different in Toronto.

    And would you have ever believed that the greatest athletes you have covered were not Maple Leafs?
