Why was Nene out there at end anyways?

I think because the Warriors got offensive rebounds on the two(?) previous possessions. Not saying it was a great idea, but I think that was the rationale.

The difference at the end of that game was that the Warriors exploited the mismatches created by the defense/switches (Nene on Curry and Durant posting up Harden) and the Rockets didn’t. The Rockets tried to have Curry’s defender pick for Harden to create a switch, but Curry jumped out hard each time to double and allow Iguodala to recover to Harden. Rockets never adjusted by having the screener either slip the screen or even roll as soon as Curry jumped out. Instead they just killed clock trying the screen repeatedly and then having Harden force a shot.

I really have a hard time watching Harden flail his arms at phantom calls all. game. long.

For how fun the game is to watch right now, he is the most unwatchable great player I have ever seen.

Which makes his statement after the game that much more ridiculous. You want a fair chance? C'mon man. You're the dude who gets the most calls of anyone. Harden averages about 1 free throw attempt more per game than the next closest guy. I'd say he's getting a fair chance.

He tries to draw a foul more than he tries to actually make the shot on many possessions.

In a related announcement, the Rockets are opening a speciality restaurant in their home arena next season. It's gonna be called "Whine and Cheese," featuring pizzas from a 27-brick oven.

First, bravo on some fantastic trash talk.

Jesus this is talking blaming refs to an absurd level. Shit happens and refs don't call everything in the playoffs. And it isn't just the Rockets. The whole NBA is getting so bad at crying about every call. The Warriors included.

Are the Rockets still basking in the glow of their first-half championship from last season?

But, agreed. It's like when I was covering high school soccer once and a parent thought I should do a story how Podunk didn't get any calls because the refs were from Springfield and Shelbyville. He was so sincere about it, I couldn't tell him how full of shit he was.
