Colorado v Islanders for the Cup.

 

Carolina was the better team in this series, by far.

That's on Rierden, who had a Cup winning team minus Jay Fucking Beagle and a dude who was about to be a sheep herder in Czechia (Kempny). Ovechkin and Backstrom have only a year or two left in their window. One and done. Fire his ass. I'm not even pissed about the loss, because I knew it was coming. This team fucking took periods off all season long, and the same thing happened when it mattered most.

Not sure who should replace him, but he ain't the guy to guide them through this window.

Also, before you bring up Oshie, Carolina was missing Svechnikov and Ferland and had Martinook at half strength, at best.

I will always cherish last year's run, but this one shouldn't have ended the way it did. At least my Friday night is freed up to do something else.
