    NFL are finally banning guns.

  2. Bell is getting the Steelers franchise tag ... No surprise, really. Suspect this will be his last year as a Steeler.

Matt Forte, signs a one-day contract with the Bears to retire.

    Unrelated to the off-season ...

Saw an interesting stat yesterday. The Steelers average the exact same ppg without Bell as with him.

I have this fantasy that some team will screw up this move and accidentally guarantee the guy $1M or jam up their salary cap or something.

    Maybe the Redskins.

Interesting, but given the other factors involved, I'm not sure how much it matters. For example, you would have to look at the opposition in the games he played vs. the games he didn't play. If I remember correctly, he sat during the Week 17 games against the Browns the last two seasons. That isn't much of a test for the Steelers' offense without Bell.

Also, many of those games he missed were when the Steelers still had D'Angelo Williams, who produced like a starter. They don't have an option like that any more.

Stay away, Bears. Watkins is a decent piece as a complementary deep threat but he’s not a No. 1.

If an official is ever named to the Hall of Fame it probably should be Ron Gibbs, who was the referee for 14 NFL Championship games in the 40's and 50's.

Yes, but he didn't become a TV star. ;)

Jim Tunney and Jerry Markbreit were far better officials than Hochuli. His son Shawn though has a chance. He's a great referee.
