When your quarterback is still on a rookie contract, there is so much more you can do than other teams.

According to the AP story I saw, his base salary next season is $1.65 million. Goes up to something like $7M and $8M in 2019 and 2020.
This is like somebody offering to sell you a new Porsche for $2,000. It's a great deal, but it's almost too good to be true and you can't help but wonder what the catch is.

But what if the seller is bankrupt and indicted? The Seahawks are roughly in that position.

Well, that is how once every 10 years somebody is able to get a Ferrari at a police auction for $50.

Why isn't the next team offering $2100?

When one is selling rapidly depreciating assets, which the Seahawks are, dickering is not in the seller's best interest, because depreciation keeps working.

Bennett isn't an active oil well. He is the same player today he was yesterday.

Falcons, Patriots, Browns, Bucs were in on him according to Schefter.

Sources: Seahawks trading Bennett to Eagles

I haven't heard an explanation for why he appeared to be traded for so little when four other teams were interested.

32-year-old pass rushers are in a constant daily state of decline.

Maybe his agent is lying to Schefter and those other teams weren't very interested. I have a hard time seeing why the Seahawks would snub a better offer.

He is going to be dead by the start of OTAs if he is declining at such a rate the Seahawks cannot wait a few hours to check for better offers.

Why are you assuming they didn't?

I'm just challenging the claim that the Seahawks were rushing to get rid of him like he was declining by the second to explain why the return was so low.

Can we at least agree that the Seahawks having to blow up their roster is a good thing?
