Aw, I was hoping they'd have Jeff Garcia give Owens' introduction.

  5. Tomlin tells Virginia TV outlet he expects announcment on Bell contract Monday.
Sounds like a deal has been reached.

TO says he's boycotting "for all those who had to wait."
There really is no better way to validate the criticisms made of you, than by boycotting the ceremony. He could have made a great speech - and would have had no better platform to speak about it, than by making it in Canton on live TV.
I'm kind of surprised Barstool didn't offer to foot the bill for the TO party, I imagine it would provide plenty of material.

In the short term, that would be a good thing. Bell clearly wasn't at his best early last season and he was likely to sit out all of training camp and suffer a similar rough start if his only option was to play under the franchise tag again in 2018.

That said, I think this is a mistake. Bell was still great in 2017, but his yards per carry dropped off quite a bit from previous seasons. I think that was the start of a decline which will leave the Steelers with an overpaid, fading player two or three seasons from now.

They now have a 3-4 year window for #7.

They don’t have a window without Bell.

  11. Yeah, but they need to win now.
Rudolph may the heir apparent, but they need to they can to keep the Ben, Bell and Brown together. and build a fucking defense!!!
As Scout pointed out they have a limited window to get past NE. Bell is even more important this season as a pass catching threat with the loss of Bryant and no one to take his place.
