The NFL also has a floor of sorts, but I don't think any team has come close to it.

Every year the Cowboys seem to have some reason for optimism. This year, losing their top two receivers will be "good" because it will put less pressure on Dak Prescott.
I remember when getting T.O was the answer. Then getting rid of T.O. was the answer.

That is fantastic, especially that last bit about Jones leaving his cap on during the playing of the anthem even after being reminded to remove it. It is easy to forget to take it off. My first thought is that was proof that for Jones, it is more about control than it is about patriotism. Of course, it is also about vanity. Jones wouldn't want to be seen with hat hair and he is certainly going to put his vanity before his ideals.

I know these aren't marquee players, but a Panthers LB out of Duke who had just signed a two-year deal is out for the year. Packers apparently lost two LBs, one of whom may be through. There will be others.
Has anybody done any research on the number of serious injuries occurring in training camp these days relative to the camps in the era of the previous CBA, which included more mandatory off season training, etc?

Or how many injuries take place in the first week? Given the way teams practice now, I'm surprised any starters go full contact. Having players trying to make a roster going against starters is dumb. Makes more sense for O1 and D1 to go against each other at half-speed.

The Star Ledger had an article this week about how backup QB Davis Webb's tiny apartment is filled to the brim - on tables, chairs, under beds - with binders containing notes and plays.

Normally I'd commend a guy for his work ethic. But since I've been burned too often by this team, I'll just cruelly laugh at what is clearly some sort of sad obsessive compulsive behavior.

A little clarification ... Russ Cockrell, the Duke product, is a cornerback. Tib-fib fracture. Ugly ... reportedly, he was yelling that his leg was broken as he lay on the ground after it occurred.

Additionally, starting right tackle Daryl Williams is also out with a torn MCL and dislocated patella.

Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney cannot be comfortable early on.

I was wondering who the heck tap was talking about. I saw something about Cockrell's injury. The guy got pushed out of a bad secondary in Pittsburgh, so I'm not sure that trusting him in a significant role is such a good idea. It sucks that he suffered such a nasty injury, but I question the impact he could have made.
