I have to admit, he was a good champ in that he brought in an incredible amount of heat, and drew crowds of people desperately wanting to see him get beat.
I'm still pissed, however, that he was the guy to beat Steamboat for the belt.

    My contribution:
I loved the Undertaker's "American Badass" persona. I just thought it was great seeing him display some personality and the interaction between him and the other members of Team WWF (Austin and Angle especially) during the Invasion storyline was hilarious.

I agree with HBK, but Flair? Get ready for these hands!

I enjoyed his SNME match with Savage, but by being a "good" IC champ, I'm not really referring to his workfare. Rather, I'm referring on his ability to get heat and to draw a crowd.

It's the hhh types that say he's the best ie better than Hogan and Austin that bother me. Just no.

    my most over-rated: CM Punk.

also, I generally prescribe to the VKM notion that bigger wrestlers are better. wrestling champions need a plausible reason why they are so tough to beat, whether its size + inexplicable comeback ability ( Hogan) toughest SOB around (Austin), dirtiest player in the game (Flair) etc. Daniel Bryan comes close with his in-ring intensity and move set, but I have trouble buying a smaller wrestler as champion.

Pre-injury HBK was better than all of them.

I'll agree with that point when it comes to a guy like Rey Mysterio or cruiserweights beating up giants like Braun Strowman, but wrestling's dirty little secret is that most wrestlers are usually between 220 pounds and 260 pounds. In other words, all in the same general range and big enough to where giving away 20 or 30 pounds at that size doesn't matter much. Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho are both around 220 pounds and Kane is 300. You're saying Kane is a plausible champion and those two aren't?

So why was the business in the toilet with him on top? He doesnt touch Hogan or Austin. The rest is debateable but he spent the biggest boom in industry history home in a stupor so I can’t personally put him over Flair or Rock either.

I never really liked Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Bret Hart or the Undertaker.

I always thought NWO Wolfpac was the better group. NWO Hollywood had the better entrance.

Tyler Breeze and Fandango are vastly underrated now. Same goes for John Morrison/Johnny Mundo and Dalton Castle.

Heel Sasha Banks (think NXT) is so much better than face Sasha Banks. Same goes for Bobby Roode (again, think NXT).

I was talking about in-ring performance more than anything else.

The business was in a state of flux in the early to mid-90s for a variety of reasons. The kiddies who loved Hogan and Warrior had grown up and were no longer interested in cartoon characters, yet, Vince was still stuck in on that mode. WCW, pre-NWO, was Hoganized, which meant we were seeing some of the same crap that the kids were already sick of. There was good wrestling on the undercard, but the main event scene had Hogan beating Flair for the umpteenth time and no-selling Vader.

Vince also was heavily distracted by his steroid trial, and the after effects of the news coming out that most of his wrestlers were juicing and the sex scandals.

Plus, HBK's babyface character was just kinda weird.

Chavo Guerrero could have had a good to great career if he hadn't been related to Eddie.

Bret Hart is also at Billy Graham levels of bitter and has borderline pissed away his in ring accomplishments.(This one may not be unpopular).
