It was going to be hard for the ref to see that dive because he was facing the back of the defender. I think they wanted to keep VAR limited so it didn't make the game choppy: Offsides, penalties in the box, mistaken identities and balls crossing the goal line. It's hard when technology allows us to see things that are impossible to see by those on the field. That dive was really bad. It makes me wonder if the sideline ref should have caught it and why he didn't.

Tough one for the Trumpists. The French team prominently features immigrant families.

Not sure what you are talking about. He clearly had his foot stepped on before that free kick.

I don't understand the complaints about the penalty, either. He pretty clearly (to me) means to handle it. His arm drops and his hand opens.

Piers Morgan, sadly, isn't the only Brit wanker who should STFU.

Pussy Riot is a Russian, progressive feminist punk band formed in 2011 who has been deeply critical of Russian president Vladimir Putin and the government. The group considers the leader a dictator, and the 11-member band has changed over the years from performing music critical of the government and the Russian orthodox church, to become a social movement inside the country.

Pretty sure BTE's response will be, "How is that different from any US President."

Hope people who write about the field intrusion understand it wasn't a mere stunt, or dare from an online casino.

"Trump is a dictator (or is trying to be)" has been the narrative on my Facebook news feed for the past 18 months.

Trump has neither the energy nor the mental capacity to be a dictator. He'd LIKE to be one, but only if somebody else did the work of setting it up for him. Putin is more than willing to put the time in. KGB didn't recruit nor tolerate lazy people. By the way, my son's report from Moscow was, "political conversations were very short. No way I could possibly have worse things to say about Russia's government than Russians do." So exactly like home in some ways.
