I've heard it from more than one, but I'll take your word for it. I'm no Giants fan. I just happen to be surrounded by them.

Not a Giants fan. But Gettleman is terrible. Game has totally passed him by. Shocked they didn't clean house when then canned Shurmur.

Interesting list. Who was the least successful?
Romeo Crennel couldn't even get to the playoffs with a 10-6 team.

If I'm interviewing in Cleveland - I'd reserve the right to veto Baker at the end of next season and bring my own QB in. There have been worse QBs, but I can't think of a worse QB who seems to dominate a franchise more.
7 and $60m for Ruhle's resume - 1 yr in the NFL as an assistant OL coach and seven years in college? He could win a NY6 game, finish in the top 10, maybe even get a college playoff birth and not see that kind of deal again. You take it. Though I will be curious to see what his staff looks like to judge what the rest of the NFL thinks of the hire.

ESPN reports the Browns want to make a hire by Saturday. Why? They're the only team now in the market for a head coach, having been rebuffed by several candidates who possess a functioning cerebellum. What's the rush? The Combine isn't for several weeks and the Draft isn't for several weeks after that.
Can someone enlighten me on this one?

Might be trying to figure whether McDaniel is in or out. It always did strike me as odd how many teams end up with coaches who are too busy with the playoffs (a sign of good coaching) and just go with an assistant who was bounced early or didn't even make it. With eight teams left and all of those staffs still intact - seems like you'd have a pretty good pool.

Because the Browns also have an open GM spot for whom the prospective coach will have a role in picking. They also have to assemble a team of assistants/coordinators, which gets more limited the longer you wait.

Also, because the people in charge don't know what they are doing. We did consider that option, too, right? :)
