If I'm Brady (and I'm not), I'm Tommie Gunn wanting to see what I can do without Rocky coaching me.
    That's just me.

There was some talk Kraft didn’t want the AB signing hanging over him because of the (alleged) rubs and tugs. Oh yeah, and something about Myra’s memory. Etc.

Belichick does better without Brady than Brady does without Belichick’s bubble around him.

I think that’s true, but you wonder if he could spend the last year or two of his career on a team which doesn’t have the infrastructure of the Pats.

I hope keeping Kellen Moore was McCarthy's call and not "suggested" by Jones. He has a history of managing his coach's staffs.

I have seen it. I was basing my take on the ‘95 Browns on my memory of it.

Belichick is 67. Maybe he thought he was too old to start from scratch again?

This kind of seems to me like when Jones hired Wade Phillips and also announced Garrett as a coach in waiting. If I were Kellen Moore and could get a job anywhere - I'd go somewhere else. He could always come back to Dallas as an HC. Or maybe he figures Jones will end up giving him as much rope as he gave Garrett.

Surprised that Moore didn't take the Washington OC job, considering his ties to the northwest and the staff at the school. But I guess he figures if the Cowboys are successful, based on how the offense did this year he'll get a good chunk of the credit.

Granted, I imagine Moore will pick up some new things from McCarthy - but I do think coaches should move around a bit, not only to learn new systems and how other teams operate but to get to know other assistants who you might want to work for you some day.
