Didn't think anyone would ever get 100 percent. Definitely deserved for Rivera.

All four well deserving. Rivera is great and yet it’s weird to think he’s the first unanimous selection.

Perfect. Guardians of the game's morality who're too gutless to admit it. I lost my ballot for being out of sportswriting for too long. Fair enough. If you aren't willing to have your Hall vote public with your name on it, you shouldn't have one.

Nobody has ever done his job better than Rivera did his.

Good for him, but piss on the voters who didn't make Mays, Aaron, Griffey, or any number of other players who did their jobs as well as he did who were also worthy of being unanimous selections.

I yield to no one in my admiration for Mo. Greatest Yankee pitcher ever. A perfect gentleman. But that he is the first unanimous selection is wrong. Mays, Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Ted Williams? Just more proof the BBWAA is a seriously flawed (I'm a member and proud of it) institution that needs to either take a long look in the mirror or get out of the Hall process.

It’s weird that it’s Rivera but one less bad tradition around the HOF is a good thing

I agree with much of this. Somebody had to be first, and Rivera on his own merits should have been unanimous. But who were the shitheads who voted against Ruth? They're long dead, but their names ought to be known so as to shame their descendants.
