2019 Galloping Triple Crown thread

I was really hoping the horse that threw his jockey finished first.

 

He actually didn't finish last on the track.
Race horses are essentially like greyhounds. They know when the gate opens to run around the track, jockey or not.

 

Not only did he make it all the way around, after the race he went most of the way around in the other direction before someone reined him in.

Pure athlete. SI Sportsman of the Year.

 

Bad trip.

 

Best part of that race was when they got into the homestretch, and riderless horse was at the back of the pack. Just as the outrider was about to rein him in, though, he got a second wind right when other horses were tiring and jumped into the middle of it all.

 

I’d like to see a replay set to Benny Hill music.

 

Gotta be a five-horse race this summer: Derby, Preakness and Belmont winners, horse DQ'ed from the Derby and the riderless horse.

 

Oh, yeah, the Belmont.
