Francisco Lindor sprains his left ankle. Already dealing with a strained right calf.

I predict he doesn't play til May. Indians brass had to be shaking.

I am less concerned with which team is playing which team but jeezuz, make it an event. Pick a day, and stick with it. Give it some play, like this week.

And again, stop with this international foolishness. Remember, they've started in australia as well.

They've screwed this up so much.

It used to be universal, Reds got to get it going and then everyone else later that day. Tradition, its not something to just discard willy-nilly.

Then a Sunday night opener; I hated that.

Now, 2 games in Japan? Why does Japan get to rob us of the most magical day of baseball, ITS OPENING DAY!! Now every other "opening day" game is almost anti-climatic relative to before.

The Japan games don't bother me too much. Other than screwing up some fantasy league scoring, they were easy enough to be ignored.

But it would be nice to open with one big game then have everyone else play the next day. Have the champs raise their flag and host a game. Or, where weather is a concern, have the champ play a dome team so the game can't be postponed.

Does anybody pay attention to NBA Opening Day? Concert? Fireworks? Blecch. I hate that about the NFL opening night, too. The reason to watch the NFL Opener is the two teams playing. I like the idea of a World Series rematch to open the season, but more than anything, I just want a shitload of day baseball games. Give me a couple good matchups and I'm good to go. I sure as shit don't care about a concert or fireworks.

For a few years, weren't they starting on the Monday afternoon of the NCAA final? That wasn't a bad idea.

That was back in the late '90s and early '00s.

Yeah, they were. And, for those of us who care, it was the day after WrestleMania.

So we essentially would have an awesome three days of the Final Four, WrestleMania and Opening Day, followed later that week by the Masters.

First Monday in April would be the baseball opener, the NCAA final and the Oscars. Have they moved back the start of Spring Training? Did it used to be longer?

They've screwed around with the length of spring training, plus the date of the NCAA final has crept back into April.
Of course they have nothing really to do with each other, but it was kinda cool when there was afternoon baseball before the NCAA title game.

A's finish spring training with highest winning pct. Reds won a whopping 8 games all spring.
