@Della9250, why are you up at 3:27 a.m.? I bailed on that game around midnight.

What appears to me to be an unbelievable stat, especially for a 102+ win division winning team. The Yankees have had 136 difference defensive lineups plus DH excluding pitcher. Not batting order but lineups. The most common defensive lineup was used merely 5 times. With Aaron Hicks out probably through the playoffs, the Yankees can’t even put their most common lineup in the field for the playoffs

The all-star second basemen on either side of Sandberg's prime were Joe Morgan and Craig Biggio. Sandberg routinely had more total chances than either of those players. So he must have been fielding something, even if he didn't ever dive for ground balls. And he played at least half of his games on grass and dirt, not on turf like Morgan and Biggio.

Total chances doesn't necessarily represent range. Did he play behind strikeout pitchers? A groundball pitcher.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the reason Thom Brennaman left WGN radio/Cubs was because they wouldn't grant him the flexibility to work Fox football telecasts? Didn't he land then with Diamondbacks' TV? I was listening at the conclusion of Thom's final Cubs' broadcast. He broke down on the air. Sure didn't seem to me he wanted to leave.

I don't think a new yard will be the savior for baseball in Tampa Bay the Rays think it will be. They've tried everything at the Trop but put a contending team on the field, save the Maddon era, and I doubt that's crossed their mind.

The Tampa Bay area is territorial to the point of ridiculousness. Tampa residents refuse to go over the bridge to St. Pete, even though the stadium is crazy easy to get to, right off the interstate. If a new park is built in Ybor City or nearby, Pinellas County residents won't go. I say build the new park IN Tampa Bay and give both cities an equal drive that won't actually involve traversing an entire bridge. Plus offer boat parking.

I was in a lot of venues across the county and in foreign lands during my career, and none came close to being as depressing as the Trop. Like a function room in a bankrupt hotel.
