I think Tanaka has given up 18 runs in less than four innings in his last two starts against Boston, tonight and in London.

Say what you want about Angel, but he knows the rulebook. Surprised the discussion went that long.

    While throwing 56 mph. Crazy.

    No rule violated.
Angel and Co. got that exactly right.

For once, confusion worked in his favor.

Looked like the Angels just wanted to game to end. They were impatient and lunging at his pitches, exactly the wrong thing to do.
The inning before, after the O's went up 8-5, reliever Scott gave up a hit and three walks. It's 8-6 with Trout coming up. He ripped a bases-loaded double into the left-field corner. Brilliant relay by the Orioles and they get Fletcher out at the plate. There was a lengthy video review. The throw clearly beat him, but Angels fans can see that Fletcher slid wide of the plate and reached back with his hand, while the catcher Severino had to lunge to tag him on the upper chest just below his chin. The hand might have gotten in first. O's fans would disagree. Too close to call. Original call was out, so it stood.

If that call can't get overturned, then don't even bother with replay. Clearly safe upon replay.

And the Angels messed up their already taxed pitching staff by using Griffin Canning, who was supposed to start tonight, for two innings. I'm not sure if they have any starters for the rest of the weekend.

@ChrisLong, did you make it until the end? I fell asleep around 12:30 after the O's went up 8-5.

I'd love to see a Hall of Sort of Very Good open. Random LCS or Series MVPs who had a few good seasons. Guys who had their careers cut short because of injuries. Sidd Finch and the like.
