According to ESPN Stats & Information research, Velasquez became the first full-time pitcher with an outfield assist since Dodgers reliever Bobby Castillo on Sept. 10, 1980.

That means the next one will go 6:41 to balance the karma.

Did they only play five innings?

He damn near had two of them. He missed throwing amother guy out at the plate (the one that turned out to be the winning run) by a whisker. Great throw that got there in time, but the runner slid around the tag.
Velasquez also had a great diving catch to end the 15th inning. He might be the Phillies starting left fielder by the end of next week.

The Angels DFA'd Lucroy after they got Stassi at the deadline. Lucroy played one game after having his face crunched in a home plate collision with Marisnick and missed three weeks. Sure enough, in the second inning on Wednesday against the Tigers, there is a play at the plate. I was listening on the radio, but the Angels announcer indicated that the throw was there in time, but Lucroy backed away from the collision and the runner scored. Hard to blame him, but you just can't do that. The analytics guys reported that his catching ability had dropped off. The Angels are leading the majors in wild pitches/passed balls.

All the runs scored on two homers in the first. There were no consecutive base hits in the game.

Tracked down the play at about 2:15 here...

Yep, he was definitely gunshy. That really sucks. Given that Marisnick was suspended, which indicates culpability, I wonder if a lawsuit won't be coming his way from the Lucroy family?

I highly doubt it. Do you realize what kind of Pandora's Box that would open in the world of sports?
Hell, if Lucroy ever called for someone to be beaned someone could sue him if that becomes a precedent.
