Did I say they never won one?

Irvin, yeah. He played with innumerable HOFers on one of the great dynasties of all time. And how many did Moss, OchoCinco, Andre Rison and TO win?

But hey, if you wanna build your title hopes around the likes of Odell Beckham, have at it. I'd rather take Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald, Hines Ward, Marvin Harrison (as long as he doesn't shoot anyone).

And no, you're not really missing anyone. So think before you tell someone they're having a hot take, skippy.

Maybe I don't understand what a "hot take" is. I don't watch ESPN anymore.

I thought it was an idea that people had not thought about before.

No disrespect intended. It was something I had not heard before.

Fair enough. Of late it seems like "hot take" has a totally negative connotation, like you're a talking head who is paid to say something, anything, so you say something that comes fast and hot, without the proper time to coolly reflect. My apologies. I saw "hot take" and thought you were comparing me to Screaming A Smith :)

I see your point. good "hot takes" don't come around often, but I like the "a diva WR = no SB" discussion.

They've also drafted Sammie Coates, Dri Archer, Willie Reid, Limus Sweed, and Markus Wheaton in recent years.

I tend to lean toward OOP. Let's see how these guys do facing double teams and when JuJu can't be moved around to avoid getting caught in press. And let's see if James Washington can do the same on the outside to take some of the pressure off.

Pretty sure Andre Rison won one with the Packers.

Yep, had a 54-yard touchdown too.

Plaxico Burress considered a diva? He definitely has a ring and a game-winning TD.

Steeler fans consider Santonio a diva? A ring and an MVP in his collection.

Jeremy Shockey definitely fits the description. Two rings, although probably one of them came because he was hurt and couldn't annoy Eli Manning.

Burress and Holmes as divas? I think that's stretching the definition to include criminals and morons. Still remember the first "big" catch of his career in Pittsburgh. Plax caught the ball and spiked it down. Problem was, no one had touched him down, so the spike was a fumble. Holmes was traded bc he loved the pot and couldn't stay out of legal trouble. I guess that makes them divas, which basically should just apply to anyone who is difficult to work with.

Coincidentally: "On April 11, 2010, Holmes was traded to the New York Jets in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft[7] (the Steelers eventually traded the pick to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a sixth round pick, which they used to draft Antonio Brown..."

Definitely have to grant you Bad Moon Rison.

To be a diva, do you need to be the top receiver on your team?

Holmes was the top receiver vs the Cardinals. Unsure if he went full diva before or after that game.

No. Juju Smith-Schuster won team MVP for the Steelers last season, so...:D

I guess it depends on how you define a diva. Holmes was every bit the pain in the ass as Brown. He just wasn't as good of a player. He did some dumb stuff with social media and the team kept trying to get him to stop smoking marijuana, at least during the season. Then he combined the two by posting something about doing a wake and bake and that was the final straw.

I certainly think you can win with a diva at receiver. Brown isn't the reason the Steelers haven't won a Super Bowl. He did help the Steelers make it to one in 2010, though he was a reserve on that team. I can't really think of any time that Brown's diva behavior hurt the team until Week 17 of last season, and Pittsburgh won that game.

I'm assuming they will sign a veteran or draft a receiver. It really doesn't make sense to go into next season with just Smith-Schuster, Washington, Switzer and Rogers. I'm leaving out Heyward-Bey in spite of the odd love affair some Steelers fans seem to have with him.
