But it's the hapless Broncos. Does that count?

Nathan Peterman has a fan in Jon Gruden.

And as a certain (former) sj.com poster used to say, it wasn't all Nate's fault!

    It's not your fault.

I say again, Nathan Peterman has a job in the NFL and Colin Kaepernick does not. Strictly for football reasons, of course.

Nathan Peterman in Oakland! It took 50 years but the Bills are now getting their revenge on the Raiders for the Lamonica trade.

I'm firmly in the "Kaepernick was washed up anyway" camp. And I am beyond sick of hearing his name mentioned every time there's the slightest hint of an opening on any team's QB depth chart.
Nathan Peterman's continued employment in the NFL does nothing to bolster my arguments.

To be fair, it's not just Kaepernick. Jake Cutler, Jeff George, Steve McNair... All of them could give you more behind center right now than Peterman.

Exactly. Of course defensive backs love Peterman because he throws them the ball so much.

Steve McNair coming back would be a story, that's for sure.

There is a reason back-up QBs are referred to as caddies. Their job is to show up, keep up and shut up. Same reason Tebow wouldn't get a look - not worth the media distraction. A bigger question is why most teams don't employ serviceable back-ups who might be able to win a crucial game or two.
I wouldn't be surprised if most NFL teams don't have a back up that has won 10 games as a starter.

Actually, because so many backups turn it into a long career, I bet there are plenty who have, especially since many of them are failed starters.
