Good finals. These 2 apparently don’t like each other

Djokovic's support of Gimelstob is an interesting subplot, too

I like Federer, and I hope he wins. But there's something oddly endearing about Djoker's gives-no-fuck arrogance that makes me respect him. You kind of have to have that in an individual sport.

crappy way for it to end. A miscall and then the whiff by Fed.

Looking at the crowd, these Wimbledon matches always seem like conventions for Bond villians.

Fed had his chance with two championship points at 9-8 (I think?) ... when he didn't win there, he wasn't winning the match. Incredible cojones from Djoker.

US Open better seed these guys 1&2. A repeat of Borg-McEnroe 1980

So is it a sign of the lack of depth in men's tennis, their own dominance, or just one of those freaky statistical things that the top three on the all-time Grand Slam singles championship list is from this generation of players?
It's amazing to think that Federer is six clear of Sampras' old record and might wind up third all-time by the time he retires.

It’s modern money, medicine and training. Emerson was in it for 7 years, Laver for 10, Borg 7 years. From the time they won their first to their last. These guys can play longer because they have better opportunities to stay healthy and get healthy.
