I think it's great when athletes get involved with encouraging people to vote and participate - but the Dream averaged fewer than 5,000 fans at their games pre-Covid. And they're moving into a new 3,500 seat arena. It was a "sick burn" to campaign against the owner - but other than that...

 

Yeah, other than being a prime mover in getting a shithead senator to lose her senatorial election bid (Warnock was polling at 9% when the Dream started campaigning); which completely turned the majority in the United States senate - other than that, they didn't do much.

 

You really think the team had more of an influence on the outcome of the race than Trump or Loeffler herself? Or the Dems having a second shot at flipping the Senate? Again - not knocking the involvement, but think that a team that influential would have drawn more fans to begin with. And I'm not even going to go into the typical leanings of WNBA fans - it's not like they were flipping NASCAR fans.
