The guy who came in for the perpetually overrated Sam Ehlinger in the Alamo Bowl looked pretty good. And you're right. Sark had better have somebody in that spot. Mediocrity there will get him whacked, and it may not take four years.

But seriously, how many have those types of coaches have already been cycled through Austin?

The Athletic had it first, but the administration and athletic department drawing a line in the sand and demanding the football team take part in a song with roots in minstrelsy is a remarkably stark illustration.

So, where are expectations most unreasonable now?

    Texas?
    Auburn?
Tennessee? Or maybe being bad for a while has changed that
    LSU?
    Any of the Florida schools?

He did a nice job with them this season, then took the two late losses to Rice and then UAB in the conference championship. That's a program with a winning tradition, so they may be able to make a good hire even if they are in the back of nowhere. I'm just wondering if they won't find themselves in a similar position to where Southern Miss did after they ran off Jeff Bower.

Only one conference title in eleven years sunk him. I guess I understand that.

Holliday was this year's C-USA Coach of the Year. Jaysus. In fairness, that probably should have gone to UTSA's new coach, but still...
