I am not sorry to see Syracuse exit, but I don't think anyone roots for Kelvin Sampson, do they?

Nah. I still expected a good game, and this one has not delivered. Three our of four today have pretty much sucked.

Today was bad basketball. Even the one close game was bad defense.

But it’s still basketball. We didn’t have this a year ago.

I find this slightly amusing. I am an Oregon grad. There is an excellent chance that my bracket will have six of the Elite Eight correct.... and the two I will miss on will be Oregon and Oregon State.

    Pretty
Pretty obvious to anyone who watched West Coast basketball this year that Gonzaga, USC and (when healthy) Oregon had the best teams.

Somehow the regular-season champions from the two top leagues west of the Rockies, and the second-place team from the best league, all ended up in the 16-team same regional. Gonzaga is gonna have to earn this one.

    Pac-12 is a combined 20-4 in the men's (11-1) and women's (9-3) tournaments.

I hate the camera time given to coaches in NCAA, I was rooting for Oral Roberts U but that coach getting the T at start of game was ridiculous making game all about him.

College basketball broadcasters have always worshipped coaches. Recall the opening of Seth Davis' book about the Bird-Magic season? Until a wise producer intervened, NBC was going to open the final with a segment on coaches.

Coaches used to stay 20 years while players stayed 4.

Now coaches stay 5-10 years while players stay 1.

They like the coaches because they KNOW the coaches.

It doesn't make them interesting or appealing. Boeheim, K, Cal, Izzo and Self could have coached for a combined 1,000 years, and television has yet to convey something likeable or interesting about these people.
The first likeable guy I can remember is the coach from East LA College on this season's Last Chance U.

The women's games were much more interesting. I don't usually watch, but was switching back and forth. Good stuff.
