A perfect chance for me to mention a statistical oddity from my senior year of hoops (I'm thinking about that year because I just got a call from my dad giving me a bad time about some missed free throws that season....28 years later).

We played 3 OT games. Went 3-0 and across the three of them we scored 19 consecutive points.

--3 at the buzzer to win the first one.
--Outscored second team 10-0 in OT in second game.
--Scored first six points of OT in third game.

Will send this to Elias and see if they can track last team to accomplish such a feat....

I swear she missed her calling as a roller derby manager.

Openly calling for defiance of the COVID protocols.

The NCAA should suspend her on the spot. Take 90 days off now and let's add on the first five games of next season.

The COVID protocols were written for a reason, you dingbat, and it wasn't just to screw you or your poor little team.

It may have been posted here, I forget, but I saw a headline about people being upset the women's NCAA Tournament isn't dubbed "March Madness," as the men's tournament is. I gather that the argument is that by not sharing the branding, the women's game is unfairly disadvantaged.

It made me wonder: Does the women's tournament produce as many buzzer beaters, upsets and comebacks as the men's tournament? It very well might and, if it does, it seems as though they are not as well publicized as the men's tournament's. The success of the women's game's biggest programs (there have been only 14 teams to win the women's NCAA Tournament in its 38-year history) makes me think the women's tourney might not have as many of those moments, which would lend support to keeping the branding separate.

It would actually make a pretty decent research study for a masters thesis or something along those lines. It would be interesting to define and track buzzer beaters/comebacks/upsets to see if the women's tournament produces as many "exciting" moments as the men's tournament, and also track coverage of such moments across traditional, broadcast, digital and social media to see how the coverage of those moments compares.

You need an exhaustive study to figure out that women's basketball doesn't get as much coverage as men's? The other stuff is interesting but I just watched a hell of a woman's game, the UConn Baylor. It won't get as much ink as either of these men's games today. That is not the fault of the game.

I treat women’s basketball the way I treat college baseball - start paying attention at conference tournament time. I’m glad it is there for those who enjoy it and I feel like the NCAA owes players substantially similar treatment. But neither I nor anyone else am going to be shamed into spending my limited leisure time on something that isn’t of natural interest.

If Arkansas comes back from this, Musselman’s next contract will give him a cut of the pretzel and churro sales from the Sam’s Club concession stands. Your move Texas.

Baylor led men's 3-point shooting with a .4079 percent. You were looking at total shooting percentage.

Someone who knows or covers her, please explain this to me.
Was she mocking mask wearers? Did a bee sting her?

The quarter system makes a huge difference. Only four media time outs instead of eight; that eliminates about six minutes of commercial time per half. Not as many free throws because the count (four per quarter before the bonus) reverts to zero at the start of the next quarter.

She's known for not being shy ... but, especially given what occurred at the end of the game, this isn't exactly what I had in mind.

Oh well ... of all the times to air that grievance, of which I agree with none of it ...
