Really, really low. Can't say zero, though.

Notice that no one has talked about the timing. Roy is giving Bubba enough time to do a search. Dean didn't give Dick Baddour – who had just taken over for John Swofford – any chance to do the same, resigning during preseason practice and installing Bill Guthridge.

I think the last two years have reduced Ole Roy’s ability to hand wave in whoever he likes as successor. This isn’t like picking out your favorite kid to take over the family landscaping firm.

I would think Bobby Hurley is the natural heir-apparent at Duke. Even if he's stumbled a bit at ASU. He bitches about every single call to the point where every fan base in the conference can't stand him, so that wouldn't change by going to Duke.

He should be on the short list without question. Wondering if Wojo getting fired in Milwaukee and Johnny Dawkins getting fired in Palo Alto before landing in Orlando vaults Hurley up even more.

That didn't help. But three titles, the "aw, shucks" thing, the Dean tree and being a native will probably supersede the last two mediocre seasons.

Hurley will keep the seat warm until the real successor finishes his undistinguished NBA career, Grayson Allen.

Hubert Davis. He has never lost a game.
Seriously: Coaching and winning consistently enough to be considered a sure-fire thing is tough. Roy has produced several of his guys, but being out there exposes you.
Best thing Bill Guthridge ever did was turn down the Penn State job. When Dean retired, Gut was on staff and had a pristine record.

I fully expect Wes Miller to be the new guy at North Carolina.

And if Duke were to hire Bobby Hurley I would never stop laughing. I will never, ever understand the fascination with Bobby Hurley.
