2020-21 College Basketball thread

    And maybe there isn't a half-hour-long foulfest at the end of every close game.

    While I don't like foulfests, I remember objecting to Billy Packer's frequently expressed advocacy for the international rule, which gave the fouled team the option to take the ball out of bounds rather than shoot free throws. I renew my objection to that rule. It effectively ends the game too soon.

    Sanitation theatre I would guess. They’ve been alternating courts up to now.

    Many teams just grab a guy on the in-bounds pass and get a foul with no time running off the clock. I say, automatic five-second runoff, and the foul, for fouling in dead-ball situations.

    Not unprecedented, no. But they'll still always owe him five years pay if they decide the dump the guy. There better be a fired-for-cause, no-pay option too.

    Either that, or call an intentional foul just that. Two shots and the ball. The plague needs to end.

    It's probably the right thing to do, but it's a drama-killer.
