Georgia didn't even get a mention. Just Atlanta.

Well, to anyone who hasn't ventured past Terminal A at Hartsfield-Jackson, the rest of Georgia probably appears to be nothing but peach and pecan trees, cotton fields, Waffle Houses, Dollar Generals, QTs and the occasional truck stop. Savannah might as well be in South Carolina.

We are up to 20 named storms, 7 of which were/are hurricanes.
Wilfred is the last name on the list, then we go Greek.

Well, I just looked at the radar and the leading rain bands of the storm are about thirty miles south of me. We've had some gusty winds this morning but nothing of consequence. We'll be at 10-15 mph with gusts to 30 or so. Thirty percent chance of rain by 3 pm, 65% at 4. That said, it looks like we're not going to get much rain, as the bulk of the storm is moving east and we are at the very edges. Guesstimates on rain here range from half an inch to perhaps as much as three inches.

Could have been a helluva lot worse. I hope everyone is safe. My brother-in-law lives in Ocean Springs, Ms, just east of Biloxi. His house sits up on fifteen or so foot stilts backing up on the bayou, and he rode it out at home safely. This was a pretty ordinary storm in his terms.

30 inches of rain in Pensacola, and part of a big bridge has collapsed.

Gulf State Park (and a pretty nice golf course) looked to be right in the crosshairs as Sally hit the coast. Saw some damage in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach on one video. Sally apparently had a hankering for throwed rolls at the Lambert's in Foley.

Looks like we dodged the bullet. It's not looking fun east of here though.

It’s not just that. That’s part of the Three Mile Bridge project, which had at least 8 construction barges.

I say “at least 8” because 8 have broken loose of their moorings. Five of them washed up in downtown Pensacola, 1 grounded itself near the Escambia Bay Bridge, 1 is stuck under the Garcon Point bridge, and 1 hit the Three Mile Bridge.

The contractor apparently didn’t secure its equipment because the forecast said landfall would have been a little bit west of Pensacola.

Sally's a big girl. We're just getting the edge of the outer rain band right now. We're approximately 450 miles from Gulf Shores.
