You can’t tell me NOAA can’t find enough XYZ names to fill out the rest of the alphabet PDQ so we don’t have to resort to emojis.

Maybe they can start having them on standby, ready to use on an as-needed basis.

Delta is officially a hurricane. That escalated quickly.

That's been a pattern recently, starting with the monster that wiped out the Florida panhandle two years ago. They don't just form off the coast of West Africa and march across the ocean. Any disorganized mass of clouds can suddenly form in the Gulf and 2-3 days later you've got a Cat 3.

Man, some spots in Gulf Shores haven't even reopened from the last one and they might get hit again.

The core of Mississippi watched Laura go off tackle left and Sally go off tackle right. Looks like Delta is calling a fullback dive straight up the middle.

Delta is ready, even if you aren't.

Hurricane Delta: Storm to hit Mexico Yucatan Peninsula, US by weekend

Hurricane Delta rapidly intensified into a powerful Category 2 storm Tuesday and is expected to reach Category 4 status as it rips across the Gulf of Mexico then treks north toward the U.S. southeast.

Delta is forecast to lash Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula on Wednesday with "extremely dangerous storm surge" and "significant flash flooding." While forecasters are unsure exactly where and when it could hit the U.S., areas from Louisiana to the western Florida Panhandle could see dangerous conditions Thursday night into Friday.

Time for the "Well, that escalated quickly" meme.

Once the Greek letters run out the weather service should transition to Southern names. Hurricane Jim Bob or Bobbie Sue have a certain ring to them.
