My favorite part of this will always be:

Earl, “you wait five, ten fuckin years and you see who’s in the hall of Fame.”
Haller, “oh, you’re gonna be in the hall of Fame? Why? For fuckin up World Series?”

I watched SportsCenter last night and was amazed. They led with Verlander. Didn’t quite bury this story, but they severely underplayed it. “Only” four Marlins had tested positive at that point, but this was clearly on its way to disaster.
So now what? Should the league tell them to go away? That’s a lot of sudden off days for the Orioles and eventual off days for others. And it means some teams may still play the full 60 while others are at 54. Absurd.

Joel Sherman touches on it but still pulls his punches on the possible ramifications. Somebody needs to present the logical end game, and instead, they're trying to avoid confronting the real big very sick elephant in the room.

EDIT: And to your point, ESPN has skin in the game, which is why I ham so distrustful of their news judgment. Their complete lack of coverage of the NHL and NASCAR once their lost the coverage rights tells me everything I need to know about who's pulling the strings.

The Reds could very well be the next team to follow the Marlins. They lost Matt Davidson and Mike Moustakas, who both played against the Tigers.

And at the end, Ken Kaiser goes "Jesus Christ, we just started this gawl darn thing." It was the second batter of the game.

How would you like to be a member of the Yankees? You're in Philadelphia, getting ready to go into the visitors' clubhouse tonight, less than 24 hours after the last team had a huge COVID-19 outbreak. I don't care how "clean" you think you can get it. This is not worth the risk.
