Even though they’re in same division, I’m happy to see Padres getting after it.

I was just going to post that. Those are some serious upgrades what was already a very good team.

Tigers trade OF Cameron Maybin to Cubs for SS Zack Short.
Short, 25, has power and can field but can’t hit.
The last guy the Tigers got for Maybin was reliever Victor Alcantara. The first was some guy named Miguel Cabrera.

So you're telling me the Tigers are likely going to get Short changed?

The Padres squeezed in at least one more deal before the deadline, acquiring reliever Taylor Williams from the Mariners. Williams had been closing for Seattle.

I'm still trying to figure out the Marlins, who would actually make the playoffs as a wild card if the season ended today. They acquired Starling Marte from the Diamondbacks, but traded Jonathan Villar to the Blue Jays.

One more like that, young man, and you will go to your room without supper...

Same guy traded by one team three times? Gotta be a record.

Maybin was the first player to have three separate stints with the Tigers
When you think of it, Maybin and Andrew Miller have had good careers. So did Burke Badenhop. But they and the other three guys are nowhere near Miggy, even with Dontrelle Willis thrown in

I’d have to look it up to be sure on the specifics, but I think Ron Hassey got passed back and forth between the Yankees and White Sox a few times.

One September the Tigers got Dickie Noles from the Cubs for a player to be named
It was Noles, who was sent back to the Cubs after the season

In hockey, David Perron has been on the Blues three times. And he is a damn good player, not a throw-in type.
