This is not the person I would’ve expected to do this. More power to him.

(Yes, FedEx is paying for this.)

Will be curious to see if NASCAR's TV ratings take a hit.

I'll ask the question I posed on another thread: Are these areas monitored by surveillance cameras? Any chance the perp gets caught?
Those, of course, are separate questions.

Someone doesn’t understand that there are cameras everywhere at Talladega. It’s like the Bellagio in George Clooney’s “Ocean’s 11” — somebody’s always watching.

The big change here is that NASCAR released a statement about this at all. Even three years ago, they’d have swept this under the rug and quietly “encouraged” the offending party to find himself a new job in some other field — and with track access limited to essential racing personnel, they could’ve gotten away with it. Instead, NASCAR made the statement in time to get it into the 11 p.m. news cycle. As ESPN’s Ryan McGee noted, Steve Phelps and NASCAR management are running toward this with their fists clenched.

Can’t imagine why this part was left out of the SportsCenter tweet.

Apparently the Sons of Confederate Veterans claimed responsibility for the plane flag. I don't know if it was institutional or individuals.
I've mentioned elsewhere that they are nuts.

If it's someone affiliated with another team - I can see sponsorships lost (and perhaps moved to Wallace's team?)

Twitter trolls are claiming the noose was a false flag operation to draw attention.
Folks better hope not or any gains that have been made will be lost for a decade or more.
