Why on Earth would Houston give up three picks for a guy they can sign as a free agent?

Same reason they'd give up Hopkins for David Johnson and a 2.

I thought Manning wanted to keep playing after the Carolina Super Bowl and Denver had to tell him that he was free to latch on to someplace else but, if not, they would prefer to not to known as the team that cut Peyton Manning.

If Brady is indeed playing elsewhere next season - figured it would have leaked that he was close to signing with a team before "saying goodbye" to NE - Tampa makes sense (hey, he already has the logo hats!). Arians doesn't have time or the draft position to develop a young QB. I also think there is a lot of pride with both Brady and Belichick wanting to show that it wasn't the other guy that was key to their success. It can't be about the money.

The Carolina Panthers are moving on from Cam Newton, but doing so in a sloppy fashion. Newton rightfully called the franchise out on it. Marty Hurney trying to smooth over the mess, and David Tepper helps.

Teddy Bridgewater is the target, and they're close to a three-year deal. Interesting ... remember his playing at the stadium in Charlotte against the alma mater. Not a fan of how they botched the Newton situation, but Bridgewater will work nicely.

I remember that from the time, but I couldn't remember if that was just rumors - that he was trying to latch on with the Rams or another team - or just "it's summer and we need something to talk about" stuff.

And Arians has two fantastic receivers for Brady to work with.

We'll see how much Brady likes playing football when his career ends like Theismann or Seau.

Let's remember two things. 1. Brady has worked for the same boss for 20 years. He is probably the only person in the country who can say that. 2. He is actually at an age where men have midlife crises. But how can he have one? Buy a sports car? Owns six. Have an affair with a hot model? No. But striking out on his own with a new team is about the only option he has to shake up his life.
