Andy Dalton released. Gonna make some team a fine backup.

That, or he's going to be the lucky guy to replace Tom Brady with the Patriots.

The Packers' draft pick just seems... kind of inexplicable. Like, different draft positions, but they seemed to be as high on Love as the Giants were on Daniel Jones the previous year, which was way higher than everybody else. Rodgers has slipped from his peak, but still seems to be pretty damn good, plus, he's making a ton of guaranteed money. If they cut him before 2022, it's a bunch of dead cap money. If they're not correct on Love being too good to pass up, it would have been better for them to just bottom out for a year anyway.

The Eagles picking Hurts is way more defensible to me - Wentz has been hurt the past couple of years now. You should have a decent back-up behind him. With him, I would also be worried about the injuries eventually effecting his overall ability, and if that's the case, well, not bad to have a decent, young QB2.

Fitting for the ginger to end up in Boston.

They did not sod the infield at War Memorial Stadium and the turf was generally toast by late October. Plus, the Bills often practiced there, in the days before separate practice facilities were normal. Throw in an early snowstorm and it was a mess for at least half the season. Look at highlights from the 1964 AFL Championship vs. San Diego. I saw a late-season Bills-Chargers game there in 1969 or 1970, the field was a sea of mud surrounded by snowbanks.

    Payton's always been a little too self-congratulatory.

Awesome, dude, you won a Super Bowl 10 years ago. You're Mike McCarthy with better media coverage.

When he was interviewed right after the Saints won the Super Bowl, he had to take a dig at Peyton being an undeserving regular season MVP. That has always stuck with me as particularly classless.
