Newton has also had a couple of significant injuries over the last two seasons. He only missed two games in 2018, but he was limited in others, and he played in only two games last season. Teams can't have their own doctors examine him right now, which adds to the risk.

I think OOP's point has more to do with Newton's current limbo status. All teams can see right now are the potential downsides, none of the possible upside.

That was my thought as well - he's probably the guy most hurt by the inability to make visits right now. At this point, he might as well just wait and see if a good team has a training camp injury, and try to latch on there. Otherwise, he's probably looking at getting the crap beat out of him again on a team that he drags to 4 to 8 wins.

Guy's taken a lot more hits than the average 31-year-old QB. I can see why a playoff contender would be leery of handing him the keys to the team.

Is Drew Brees healthy? Is Stafford recovered?

He's lucky it wasn't Legion of Brains on the Floor.

"That's when Nina admits she pulled out the gun and put it to Earl's head -- stating "that she took out the magazine thinking that the gun could not fire." But, cops say Nina was "unaware that the gun had a round in the chamber."

He really is lucky to be alive. He's also an idiot. I love his response. He's angry that it got out and he said that things like this happen. Of course, what his wife did was wrong and dangerous, but it's not like Thomas is innocent in all this.

Good thing he didn't react like this when Nina confronted him.

    NFL schedule released tonight.

Texans at Chiefs in the Thursday opener -- assuming it happens as planned.
