The president of the Paris games said they are planning to keep the roads closed so the public can run the marathon course and ride the road race course right after the Olympians do. That’s pretty cool.

The Japanese crowd should have pulled an ECW and thrown the poop sponge back to the guy.

Unless you live nearby and want to go somewhere.

From my understanding, if you live anywhere near an Olympics site and want to do something for that month, you might as well just go on vacation somewhere else. It's always a logistical monster of an event that encompasses everything. Might as well let the taxpayers footing the massive bills get at least a little personal enjoyment out of it.

Don't a lot of people in France already go on extended holiday during that time already?

Don’t a lot of people in France take an extended holiday their entire life?

I’m accusing in complete jealousy of the European attitudes towards work.

One of my wife's friends lived in the Netherlands for several years, and one of the many things that frustrated her about that experience was, "No one ever works."

My wife lived in Spain for two years and worked through the afternoon siestas. She was months ahead on work.

Midwesterners in Europe should be a comedy show.
