I don't know why this popped into my mind, but, Ted Robinson has done Wimbledon and the French Open, the Giants, A's and the Mets, was the brave soul who succeeded Bill King on Warriors radio and is one one of the lead voices on Pac-12 Network. Yet, one of the lines in his obit will include his work on synchronized diving.

The Olympics are, like they used to say, the human drama of athletic competition. Which is why the individual sports are so much more compelling. For most of these athletes, in sports that only step into the light every four years, this is THE chance.

Tennis teaches all the techniques necessary to swat grenades back at the enemy. The game was developed after the tragic badmiNton experiment.

So, Russia can't be in Tokyo officially, but the Russian Olympic Committee can.

Vaguely remember him with Mets, was it 90s, after Kiner was gone?

Gotcha. Mets always had good radio and TV guys. Hernandez can be annoying, but Howie Rose and Darling are very good.
