Hoda Kotb broke it live on the Today Show. That’s how I found out.

Hm... Has your version been "on" for 60+ minutes? Mine's been on-air for about 13 minutes, and maybe I missed it, but they haven't announced it yet.

ETA: Yeah, they're clearly just running a time-delayed version of "Today," probably the one that ran on the East Coast. Seems... not so great, since Hoda is talking about seeing "Simone and the rest of Team USA," and local Houston news already broke that she's out. Not sure how they could have fixed the situation though, short of doing some really quick edits on the footage already in the can, or just going straight to the live coverage. I probably would have gone with the latter - worry about filling the hour you're "short" later, or just show some gymnastics early.

Also, here's the social media post that got people upset:

Team USA manager moving pitchers around like it was a MLB game. US down 2-0, top 5.

I think he's trying to avoid giving batters a second look at the same pitcher. Not uncommon in softball but I'm not a fan.

About the time you think top-level women's gymnastics can't get any crazier, they add "unbalanced bars" to the all-around competition.

Man, I hope people start to treat mental health as seriously as physical health. I know they won’t though. But I can hope.

Someone at NBC is getting their ass handed to them right now for not having a camera on Biles 24/7 as soon as she leaves the locker room.

When Biles started appearing in spots with a goat, I feared she was asking for trouble.

One of the precan clips they showed of biles was her talking about how everything hurts, or everyday something hurts. And she was talking about physically, and I think she was also talking about psychologically The weight she bears. And then when they finished second in qualifying the other day, with scores that did not carry over and did not matter, everyone pretty much says because she wasn't herself. Kornacki actually broke out a graph into the huge like five or seven minutes segment on how if Biles just did her average scores, they'd beat the Russians. Without regard to what's going on on gymnastics Twitter, or any of the backstory that none of us really probably know about, I cannot imagine the crushing pressure Biles has felt since the qualifying round.
