That she, and all the survivors of Nassar, get out of bed any day and competes
, works and has meaningful relationships, shows that every single one of them is stronger mentally and emotionally than 99% of the people that watch them. She’s not taking some ‘mental health day’. I hope she finds the peace she so rightly deserves.

Possibly the first person of Hmong ancestry to ever win an Olympic medal. Great story and great accomplishment.

    Rowing is intensely boring.

    I am over beach volleyball.

Half of the loquacious O'Donovan brothers duo got to put on their podium pants again.

I feel like beach volleyball is so simplistic. The pass goes to one person and the attack is one person, who has about two options. And the bikini thing is a little too gratuitous for me. It's probably a ton of fun to play but indoor seems like so much of a better product.

Also, San Marino, population 33,600 (just a touch smaller than Wausau, Wisconsin) has its first Olympic medal, a bronze in trap shooting.

Rowing feels strangely calming to watch.

I have no clue what the rules are for field hockey. I went to both medal matches in Atlanta in 96 and still don’t know.

Ha! You think you don't have a clue? You should hear the dads at high school field hockey games. ...
