This could open a not particularly interesting discussion about who legally owns bats.

They can’t make him a NFT and call it good? I thought that was the new hotness.

My dad and I got a good sideways look at it from the left field upper deck. It was like the fifth or sixth MLB game I ever saw in person so I definitely wasn't used to tracking 600-foot light tower shots. But as much as the sight I
remember the sounds: first the cannon shot sound of the homer itself, the crowd collectively drawing in its breath in a big "ahhhhh" sound as the ball continued to rise, the metallic bang as the ball hit the transformer tower, then the crowd going wild as the ball dropped straight down to the ground, rising to a jet engine roar as Reggie rounded the bases.
Oh, and it was hotter than sweaty hell. It was about 90 degrees at game time, and in those days 90 degrees was like a once a year event.

Unabashed Tiger Stadium fan boi -- and one of the rare games won by the American League during that span -- but 1971 is still the greatest All-Star Game in my lifetime for the talent assembled and the homers hit.

Does he have to go back to being a doctor in Chisholm, Minn., now?

    Seriously, great story.

The usually low-key Aaron Judge mocks Altuve by holding his Jersey shut on a home run trot. Outstanding. I’m no Yankee fan but fuck the Astros.

It is funny to see a Yankee pull that while their ace, Gerrit Cole, is right in the middle of the sticky stuff issue.

Then again, Cole absolutely dominated the Astros today, presumably without any illegal sticky stuff.
