I hope deGrom returns to his dominant self, but it sure seems ominous that he keeps getting nicked up/hurt. And I say this as a Cardinals fan who was all in on calling the Mets pond scum.

It’s hard to understand these teams that are willing to pay players to play for the Yankees. The reverse of the line in moneyball where Brad Pitt tells david justice “the Yankees are paying you not to play for them”. The Marlins owe stanton $30 million for 3 upcoming years, for example. Texas is paying the remainder of gallo’s salary for this year.

Because in most cases they got better prospects to do so.

and it’s better to pay a portion of that Stanton contract than all of it. Only two or three teams were able to take on that contract and everybody knew it

As a Tigers fan, the thing I enjoyed most in Moneyball was how badly Brad Pitt wanted to get rid of Carlos Pena

Giants TV just showed a clip of Bryant fielding the final out of the 2016 Series and I have to ask: It's back to regular extra-inning rules in the playoffs, right? Like going from 5-on-5 and a shootout to Stanley Cup playoff overtime?

What happens when mom had seats in the arcade? You get a splash hit.

Would they rather pay the full boat and not have the prospects.

Yup, exactly. Well, unless Manfred changes his mind.

Tony LaRussa is on a one-game streak of not pushing an opposing player and being an asshat. I’m proud of him.
