Cincinnati ties San Diego for the second NL wildcard spot. Whose drop is worse, Padres, Mets or Red Sox?

I’ll go with Boston. No real injury problems so it’s been the same guys who got them to the top. Plus the Yankees have been nailing their coffin shit, so it’s even worse.

    Good one.
Sox fans won’t like this, but they weren’t expected to be this good. Maybe they’re simply winding up where they should. Which is not bad for a team that unloaded Mookie Betts not too long ago.
Padres have been ravaged by injuries.
Mets may be the answer. They’ve underachieved all year. Weak division was there for the taking.

The Mets have been ravaged by injuries, too. They are currently without Lindor and deGrom. The latter is probably done for the season.

I do get your point of view. My brother-in-law, a big Mets fan, shares it. He talks a lot about so many players not producing up to the back of their baseball cards, and he is right about that, but have injuries really hit the Padres harder?

The MOST optimistic forecasts for the Red Sox prior to the season is that they could contend for a playoff berth. Which is exactly where they are right now. What's happened to them is mean reversion, not underachieving.

Probably not. I had forgotten about Syndergard. Padres have had six pitchers undergo TJ , but I think their regular lineup has been relatively stable.
Mets feel like bigger disappointment because their division is garbage.
