Matt Holliday isn't around anymore to take a line drive in the balls.

    Cardinals have won 10 straight?
I noticed something else. The Giants are second in the NL in runs per game at 4.91 while led in RBI by Brandon Crawford's total of 81. Second-leading RBI guy is Yaz with a mere 58. The Orioles have three players ≥60.
Only one team in the DH era has won ≥100 games while having nobody drive in as many as 90 runs. That's the 2015 Cardinals, whose top guy had 84 RBI.

The Giants are an all-time WTF tale. All of this defies logic.

Dodgers won in Denver in 10.

At stake is sole possession of first ...

And they pull another one out of the hat. Couple of bloop hits, then Wade Jr. lines one into left and Belt scores when the catcher drops the ball at the plate. In the bottom of the ninth, A 3-6-1 double play ends the game.

As Alex Pavlovich of NBCS Bay Area pointed out, two years ago (Bochy's last season), they lost 98 games. Tonght's win was the 98th of this season. Magic number down to 11.

A quick look at the Giants shows a team with seven of the eight starting lineup 30 or older with good but not great numbers. Crawford has 82 RBI. Not one of the starters led by the immortal Kevin Gausman has double digit losses, which is interesting. Like a good-better-not-best team in a year of many medicore teams.

But I'm not crazy enough to bet against SF in the post-season.

Not sure if it's because I am running on no sleep, but this had me in tears.

And Jason Sudeikis' 'stache is straight outta '83 Yankees bullpen.

    Such a great zinger.

The Giants are literally a collection of everybody having a career year in the same year.
