I think would be tough, for the reasons you mentioned, and I’m inclined to not believe he was doing it, but it wouldn’t be impossible. He led Sharks forwards in ice time and likely power play time. If he decided to be completely ineffective one night and basically make his line an anchor for one third of the game, he could do that and that would have an effect.

Or he could just go out and take a few penalties, or a five-minute.

Again, not saying he did these things, just that he could.

I agree that it is very hard for one guy (except the keeper) to be out there enough to have that big of an influence on intentionally tanking a game. But in a game where scoring between two and four goals is usually enough to win, giving up one ill-timed turnover leading to an odd-man rush could tilt things. Not saying he did and fully acknowledge many, many things outside his control have to line up too making tanking so hard to be unlikely.

My earlier comment was more a reflection on the fact that Kane would freelance sometimes and put the team in bad positions as a result. It left some scratching their heads about what was going on out there. Not suggesting is proof, but it would line up if and only if it were true.

The Habs are working on a trade for Kane right now I'm sure. He's got the kind of character they are looking for in their organization.

There’s prop bets too. Will Kane score? Will the opponent score first?

Also, his ex popped off on Instagram again yesterday.

Also also, she’s implying he’s now with Mara Teigen, who I assume is a model or something. Kane has certainly not wanted for 6’s.

Anyone have Vegas odds on where the Coyotes will play after next season? Quebec? Kansas City? Houston? Portland?

Underneath the tweet someone else tweeted something like, "One step closer to your new Quebec Nordiques." I thought it was a joke.

There's really no place for them to play in the Phoenix area, unless they build their own. The Suns' arena has terrible sight lines for hockey. Can that market handle three major league arenas, plus Chase Field and ASU sports?

The NHL way overexpanded, and has gone into several markets it had no business being in. ... except to pocket the franchise fee, which was done without considering what was likely to happen in those markets once the sugar high of a new team wore off.

Putting that arena in Glendale was the death knell for the Coyotes. As has been discussed here before, it's way too far from most of Phoenix for fans to get there on a weeknight for a game. I think the entire trajectory of that franchise changes had the original Scottsdale arena idea come to fruition. The Coyotes have done some good there, most notably with the grassroots growth of youth hockey in the Valley. But I can't see any path forward in that city, save for a new arena, and that's not happening.

To Ragu's point, the Coyotes weren't an expansion team. They're the old Winnipeg Jets.
